About Mark Partain, AuD
I founded MPTinnitus to share a unique and compassionate approach to tinnitus management. My perspective comes from living with tinnitus for more than 20 years and from years of clinical work as an audiologist specializing in tinnitus care. I understand both the challenges tinnitus creates and the progress that is possible.
When I first developed tinnitus, one of the hardest parts was the lack of clear guidance. Many of my early attempts to find solutions left me feeling isolated and frustrated. Over time, I learned practical strategies that work, and now I share them so others can avoid that same struggle.
Mindfulness has been one of my most valuable long-term tools. It helps me notice and address changes before they become overwhelming. As a musician, I have also learned how to focus through tinnitus and, importantly, how to let go of blame for the hearing damage that contributed to it. My own experiences shape how I write and teach, always with compassion and understanding.
My work combines audiological expertise with principles of acceptance, cognitive strategies, and mindfulness. By integrating these approaches, I aim to address both the auditory and emotional aspects of tinnitus. This big-picture perspective is at the heart of my books, which are designed to give readers practical, adaptable tools for long-term management.
